The Japanese Yoshino Cherry Blossom Trees make for a beautiful foreground to the Washington Monument. When all the flowers are in bloom Washington DC's tidal basin takes on a mystical feel. Although there are a lot of people it somehow feels less crowded because the atmosphere is so tranquil. So many people enjoying the beauty around them, artists capturing the scene on canvas, photographers taking everlasting shots and everyone is a bit less focused on the day to day issues. So close to Capitol Hill yet seeming worlds away. The Nations Capital offers more then just politics as usual just a stones throw from the National Mall.
