Description
A profile view of Historic Ocean City, Maryland's Inlet area as seen along the Beach from Assateague Island National Seashore. A close looks reveals such things as the popular OC Fishing & Ride Pier with it's ferris wheel standing high. The Ocean City Inlet allows boats to access the Atlantic Ocean from Isle of Wight Bay. The inlet was created during a terrible storm in 1933 and was caused by the water built up in the bay pushing through Ocean City's low point back to the Atlantic. Parts of the washed away roads still lie under the inlet.
