The Southern Pinwheel Spiral Galaxy, also known as the Spiral Galaxy M83 is about 15 millions light years from Earth. It can be found in the Hydra Constellation, the largest constellation in the sky. This image captures hundreds of thousands individual stars, thousands of star clusters, supernova remnants, interstellar bubbles, space clouds, space dust and a whole host of valuable information about star birth, life and death. The image stretches across about 50,000 light years This is a Hubble Space Telescope image credited to NASA and STScI.
About Billy Beck
First and foremost I am a Father of 2 beautiful girls. Originally I'm from Baltimore, Maryland, spending my childhood in South Baltimore (about 5 blocks from the Inner Harbor) and in 2010, I moved to Ocean View, Delaware along the Indian River Bay and Atlantic Ocean. Typically I photograph those things that capture my eye. With a portfolio including wildlife, architecture, people, places, statues, flowers, insects, sunsets, clouds, sky scenes, planes, boats, cars, motorcycles and more you will find a wide array of subjects.
